Join this beginner-friendly brush pen calligraphy workshop online and discover the joy of creating beautiful letterforms.

This workshop is an introduction to brush calligraphy, where you will learn the essential techniques for writing beautiful letters with brush pens. You'll start by practising the basic strokes that form every letter, learning how to control your brush pen to create those classic thick and thin lines. We will then move on to joining strokes to form letters and words.

Once you’re comfortable with the basics, you'll be introduced to a few ways to add a splash of personality to your writing with simple flourishes and stylish touches. At the end of the session, you will have the chance to put together everything you have learned and hand letter a short word or name.

After booking, you will be emailed a set of worksheets to use during the class and to keep practising in your own time. This class is a relaxed way to reconnect with your creativity and learn the skills to add a personal, handmade touch to all your future projects.

Materials you will need for this workshop:

• A brush pen (I recommend the Tombow dual brush pens, but any brand will be okay)

• A pencil

• A ruler

• A few A4 sheets of smooth paper

• PDF worksheet, printed out or in digital form (this will be emailed to you upon booking)
