Learn the art of hand lettering and create your own artwork to take home.
Learn to turn typography into art! In this beginner friendly workshop you will learn how to draw beautiful type by hand, style and embellish it and create your own piece of art to take home and frame, or to give as a gift.
In the first part of the workshop I will cover techniques for drawing neat and legible letters by hand, how to create a cohesive lettering style, ways to add flourishes and embellishments to add personality to your letters, and how to lay out your hand lettering composition. Then you will be guided step by step through creating your own hand lettered artwork with a quote or message of your choice.
No previous experience necessary. Learn a new skill and connect with your creative side as you explore ways to turn words into artistic expression.
We will use pencils, markers, and paper for this workshop. All materials will be provided.
I would recommend choosing a short phrase (2 to 10 words) that you would like to letter ahead of the workshop. I will also provide some quotes for those who would like inspiration for their piece.
