Join this beginner-friendly brush pen calligraphy class online and discover the joy of creating beautiful letterforms.

This session is an introduction to brush calligraphy, where you will learn the essential techniques for writing beautiful letters with brush pens. You'll start by practising the basic strokes that form every letter, learning how to control your brush pen to create those classic thick and thin lines. We will then look at how to join the strokes we have practiced to form letters.

This class is part one of a series of beginner brush calligraphy classes.

The following classes in the series will cover how to draw letters and words, flourishes and embellishments, and creating your first calligraphy composition.

After booking, you will be emailed a set of worksheets to use during the class and to keep practising in your own time. This series of classes is a relaxed way to reconnect with your creativity and learn the skills to add a personal, handmade touch to all your future projects.

The class will take place online over Google Meet.

Materials you will need for this workshop:

• A brush pen (I recommend the Tombow dual brush pens, but any brand will be okay)

• A pencil

• A ruler

• A few A4 sheets of smooth paper

• PDF worksheet, printed out or in digital form (this will be emailed to you upon booking)
